The use of back legs not only makes our furniture sturdy but also adds strength and durability. -We use stainless steel bolts that will not rust or corrode -All our screw holes are counter sunk below the wood surface and then plugged using wooden plugs and sanded flush. This reduces risk of the wood cracking at the screw holes and gives our furniture a smooth and snag free surface. -We use 4 screws per seat slat and back slat (two per side). This adds strength and durability by giving us a strong secure fasten of all the seat slats and back slats. The edges are rounded over by a . About Hyre's Country Haven and Mahogany Our furniture is constructed of Kiln dried 5/4 Dark Red Meranti Variety Mahogany. We use 5/4 lumber throughout our entire product line, with the finished thickness of 1 1/16 thick. Mahogany is a tropical hardwood that is easily maintained and is insect, fungus and rot resistant. It is a hard and strong wood comparable in strength to Oak and Teak, and is much more scratch resistant than Cedar or Pine.
